Burns Night - Sunday 25th January
Burns Night celebrates the birth of Scotland's National Poet,
Robert Burns (or Rabbie Burns as he is affectionatley known in
Scots dialect). BUT, There is something special afoot...
Burns night 2009 is the 250th Anniversary of Burns' Birth, and
the Scottish Government have chosen this as the Homecoming Year.
This year in particular urges Scots and those of Scottish descent,
from all over the world to bring their friends and families to
visit their homeland. This year will be exceptional in the number
of events, festivals, highland games and gatherings that cover
every inch of the country, it will be literally alive with festivities.

The Lands of Loyal Hotel will be hosting a spectacular Burns
night Dinner on 25th January in the Grand Hall.
Menu or Bill o' Fare wil be the traiditional Burns night dishes or
Cock-a-Leekie
● Haggis, neeps and tatties with whisky cream
(including a nip of whisky for the address to the haggis) ●
Roast fillet of Scotch Beef with roast root vegetables, puff pastry fleurons and a red wine sauce ● Tipsy Laird
(an individual trifle type pudding incorporating fruit and sherry) ●
A tassie o’ coffee
£42.50 per person
Dinner will be held in the grand hall where there are places for 65 people only, so book early.
From the gallery sweet scottish laments will be sung during your dinner and the famous burns addresses will be given from the stairs so everyone can see and hear.
